EXCELL consortium meeting in Birmingham
Next EXCELL consortium meeting will be held in Birmingham, from 9 to 12 May 2017. Host organization will be Aston University.
Main activities and planned agenda will focus on management aspects, deliverables and upcoming tasks and events, mainly related to sustainability, synergy and exploitation for future collaborations, journal and conference publications and participation, and researchers mobilization.
The meeting will also comprise a workshop on diversity in engineering, as well as scientific training sessions between partners of the consortium.
Fraunhofer FIT IoT Innovation and Networking Days
Leading industry experts claim the Internet of Things (IoT) as the next Industrial Revolution. The IoT applications seem to be limitless.
The EXCELL project offers a networking event at Fraunhofer FIT, the project partner leading the research fields on cyber-physical systems (CPS), business-based IoT and human-system interaction.
The IoT Innovation and Networking Days take place on 22-23 May 2017 at the FIT Campus and cover the following aspects:
DistriNet R&D Bites: GDPR Compliance in Software, Systems and Services
Short description: The new European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) strengthens and unifies data protection regulations for individuals within the European Union. Starting from May 2018, all companies operating within the EU need to comply. Failure to do so can result in penalties of 4% of their worldwide turnover. Despite the urgency of industry adoption, many companies struggle to grasp the concrete impact of the GDPR. Additionally, legal and technological support to implement the GDPR in practice are lacking.
