Web security fundamentals course: one of most popular moocs started in october 2017.

On October 3rd, DistriNet launched the Web Security Fundamentals course. The free online course started with about 4000 people joining from all over the world. Because of this huge interest, the course is one of the ten most popular course on Class Central this month.

In the course, Philippe De Ryck takes you on a journey through the fascinating world of web security. Philippe will show you how hackers break into your application. But you will also discover how to defend your applications. The course zooms in on the wide variety of security features that the web platform has to offer. Towards the end, you have collected a set of best practices to build more secure applications.
Most contents in the course are educational videos, packed with knowledge. The course also offers lab sessions to try out typical attacks and countermeasures. Online discussion groups unite participants, with different backgrounds from all over the world. A battery of tests throughout the course allows participants to track their progress.
The course runs until December 15th on the edX platform.
